Am I Any Good?
You want to know where to start, or how to stop going around in circles...
but how do you know I can deliver?
Here’s a few reasons why it’s worth us having a conversation, at least:
If other marketers are so good, why haven’t they started their own business?
I have 3 successful small businesses. It puts me in a strong position, having academic credentials, practical training, and real life experience from the small business trenches – which means you wont get any of the industry standard waffle, or specious advice.
There’s a difference between having an understanding of marketing, and knowing what you’re doing in marketing. I know what I’m doing.
I don’t need your money.
Consulting is not how I make a living. Which means that my biggest incentive to work with you is to help you grow your business – I’m not just after a quick buck.
This begs the question: why bother at all? And the answer is simple – I have a lot of fun doing it.
That doesn’t mean I work for free (or even that I’m cheap). My advice has proven to have a lot of value and I value my time.
My record speaks for itself.
You can find a list of companies I’ve helped (including my own) and the impact I’ve had here.
How am I able to maintain a high success rate? I think the answer is three-fold:
1. I stick to the fundamentals. There’s a misconception that marketing is always changing. But people, and markets haven’t changed in thousands of years. If we keep it simple and focused, you’ll be streets ahead.
2. Marketing is relative. You don’t have to be perfect, just better than your competition. And let me tell you, most of your competition is bang average.
3. Most businesses are focused on the wrong things – which leaves an open goal for you. For them, marketing is decoration, for us, it’s a growth engine.
